Don't you want the '80s?
Look, I already lived through them once! Now every time I go to the movies I must live through the 1980s again, from "Hot Tub Time Machine" to remakes like "The Karate Kid" to the Stallone throwback "The Expendables."
Here comes another one: It's called "Take Me Home Tonight" (you know, like the Eddie Money song) and it takes place during the Reagan era. The cast includes Topher Grace, Anna Faris and Dan Fogler. The studio, Relativity Media, recently released this promotional video, featuring a Brooklyn band called Atomic Tom doing an emo-ish update on The Human League's 1981 synth-pop classic, "Don't You Want Me." (Note Topher Grace's T-shirt.)
The idea is to spot the '80s references, which range from fairly obvious to tiresomely obvious, at least if you're my age. I'll start you off: When Topher Grace holds up the boombox, he is re-enacting the 1989 film "Say Anything." You take it from there.
The film opens nationwide March 4.
