It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's a picture!
Warner Bros. has released the first official photo of Superman himself. Henry Cavill, who is playing the iconic Clark Kent in the 2013 flick "Man of Steel," can be seen sporting the classic slicked jet-black hair and the red, blue and yellow suit.
The photo is not the traditional, posed photo you might expect. Cavill seems to be preparing himself for takeoff in a dark, foreboding environment, which may allude to the vibe of the film.
Upon further examination, the suit also appears to have a reptilelike texture — perhaps Spider Man-esque. The suit belonging to the previous Superman, Brandon Routh, appeared to have a thick, smooth texture. Christopher Reeve's bold suit had an almost cartoonish look.
After a batch of photos had been leaked from the "Dark Knight Rises" film, Warner Bros. beat the cellphone snapping fans to the punch by releasing an official photo for "Man of Steel" -- a smart move on its part and giving a sample of what they should be expecting in a couple summers.
"Man of Steel" co-stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as the Kents, and Julia Ormond and Russell Crowe as Superman's Kryptonian parents.
