Happy Birthday, Tupac! (Gone, but not forgotten)

Tupac Shakur was born June 16, 1971, and he was killed Sept. 13, 1996. He would have been 40 today. In his 25 years, he accomplished things that people twice his age have yet to achieve.
He became one of the most prolific voices in hip-hop. His controversial, uplifting, thought-provoking and at times raunchy lyrics made a mark in the rap game that no one has been able to duplicate.
The son of a Black Panther, Shakur was very aware of the socioeconomic issues facing urban communities. He was never afraid to speak his mind, though doing so sometimes brought him negative attention. He was determined that his voice would be heard.
Aside from being an amazing rapper, Shakur acted in a fair share of movies, including “Above the Rim” (1994), “Poetic Justice” (1993), “Gang Related” (1997) -- and we can’t forget his unforgettable performance as Bishop in “Juice” (1992). There is no telling how far he might have gone in the film world.
Songs such as "I Aint Mad At Ya," in which Shakur talks about dying and forgiveness, led some people to believe that he had a feeling that his death was near. Either way, he will live on forever through his music.
Here are some of Tupac’s most notable videos, including a video of an interview the young rapper gave when he was just 17.
