'Idol' finalist Gokey, wife have first baby

Singer Danny Gokey, the season-eight "American Idol" finalist whose first wife, Sophia, died four weeks before his audition, has welcomed his first child. Daniel Emanuel Gokey was born Sunday to Gokey, 32, and his second wife, model Leyicet Peralta Gokey, 26. "Leyicet and I are overjoyed to welcome the new member of our family," Gokey told People magazine. "I'm ecstatic to be a first-time dad and to have a new little buddy to hang out with." Gokey, who runs the charitable Sophia's Heart Foundation, added that, "Thankfully, because of what I do, it will also allow me the flexibility to spend a lot of quality time with him."
