Singer-actor and "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon, the husband of pop star Mariah Carey, tweeted late yesterday that he was being transferred to a hospital in Los Angeles from one in Aspen, Colo., for treatment of an undisclosed kidney condition.

"Thank you for all your love, prayers and concern," Cannon wrote. "You know me. I will be a'ight."

Cannon, Carey and their 8-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe were transported via private jet, Us reported. The magazine quoted an eyewitness who described Cannon as looking "pretty frail and weak."

Earlier yesterday, Huntington native Carey, 41, posted a photo of herself lying supportively next to Cannon, 31, in an Aspen hospital bed, with the tweet, "Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure." The couple were on a Christmas trip to the ski-resort town with their children.

"We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances," Carey wrote on her website, "but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful."

She noted ironically that the photo marked a "role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are."

Cannon's representative had no information on the specifics of the "mild kidney failure" when contacted by The Associated Press.

Dr. Giselle Guerra, assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, who is not involved with Cannon's treatment, told ABC News that acute kidney failure "happens all of a sudden, whereas chronic failure happens over time, often as a result of other illnesses like diabetes or high blood pressure." Acute kidney failure, she said, can range from mild to serious.
