Kristen Davis adopts a baby girl

Kristen Davis, of the popular HBO TV series "Sex and the City," welcomes a daughter through domestic adoption.
Davis had expressed the desire to adopt, despite not having a partner.
The 46-year-old named her new bundle of joy Gemma Rose Davis.

Davis's character, Charlotte, adopted her first child during the show's sixth and final season. Also, when Charlotte, despite her fertility problems, miraculously gets pregnant in the first "Sex and the City" movie, she names her daughter Rose.
