Ella Wirth, 4, from Cutchogue, hulls her first strawberry. Mattituck Lions Club's 57th annual Strawberry Festival got under way Thursday evening with the hulling of 1100 flats of strawberries under a big white tent at the fairgrounds in Mattituck. Hundreds of volunteers of all ages did their share to prepare for shortcake and daiquiris that will be sold during the 4 day event. Funds raised from the fair benefit local non-profits on the North Fork. (June 16, 2011) Photo Credit: Randee Daddona
