Lopez idle on 'Idol' decision

Will she or won't she? Or, put another way, will Jennifer Lopez get a big raise to stay on "American Idol" another year?
Lopez on Tuesday continued to waffle on the possibility of a sophomore season, telling an interviewer for BBC radio that her return is "the question of the hour [but] I don't know."
She added, "I haven't been forced to make a decision and I'm glad about that because honestly I'm very on the fence about it. I had an amazing time doing it, and I loved it, but I have a lot of other things happening. . . . It's going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year and we're not really at the breaking point of 'You have to make a decision right now!' So I'm not. I'm just really enjoying the time of just waiting and seeing."
Lopez reportedly earned $12 million last year, substantially more than Paula Abdul did her last year but (again reportedly) still less than the other freshman judge, Steven Tyler, who signed a multiyear deal.
The loss of Lopez -- who boosted her music career on "Idol" with a couple of high-profile performances -- would hurt the show, which went on something of a critical and ratings rebound last season after what many people considered the abysmal ninth. Fox, meanwhile, will meet critics in August at the annual press tour, and certainly wants to have good Lopez news for them by then.
Lopez was in London for a performance at the Summertime Ball concert there.
