 THE DEAL Joel and <a href="/topics//Ethan_Coen">Ethan Coen</a>, the filmmaking brothers behind "Fargo" and "No Country for Old Men," rarely work on other people's movies, but they're making an exception for director <a href="/topics//Angelina_Jolie">Angelina Jolie</a>. According to The <a href="/topics//Hollywood_Reporter">Hollywood Reporter</a>, the Coens -- who are five-time Oscar nominees for screenwriting -- have signed on to rewrite Jolie's latest, "Unbroken," an adaptation of <a href="/topics//Laura_Hillenbrand">Laura Hillenbrand</a>'s 2010 book. It's based on the true story of Lou Zamperini, a <a href="/topics//World_War_II">World War II</a> veteran who survived a plane crash, 47 days at sea and two years in Japan as a prisoner of war. (He turned 96 last month.) The film would mark Jolie's second directorial effort, following her 2011 Bosnian war drama "In the Land of Blood and Honey."
