THE MOVIE “I, Tonya”
THE DEAL The Australian actress recently seen in “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” is planning to play disgraced Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding, Deadline.com reports. Harding was suspected of being involved in a 1994 attack on her future U.S. teammate Nancy Kerrigan, a scandal that rocked the Olympics and led to Harding’s lifetime ban from the U.S. Figure Skating Association. Robbie is co-producing the film and looking for a director.

THE MOVIE “Battle of the Sexes”
THE DEAL The Oscar-nominated star of “Leaving Las Vegas” has joined the cast of a film about the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell), according to Variety. Shue would play Riggs’ wife. The film is one of three in the works about the famous match, including “Proof,” starring Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti, and “Match Maker,” starring Will Ferrell.
WHO Alexander Dinelaris Jr.
THE DEAL The Long Island-raised screenwriter — one of four who won Oscars for 2014’s “Birdman” — will hold a screenwriting master class presented by the Hamptons International Film Festival. Dinelaris will use film clips to take his audience through the entire process, from the early writing to last-minute changes during production. Dinelaris was a mentor at the Screenwriter’s Lab at last year’s festival.
