"Wonder Woman" franchise star Gal Gadot has confirmed a report first published in the trade website Deadline.com that she is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen in Disney's live-action adaptation of the studio's animated classic "Snow White."

After Deadline, citing anonymous sources, broke the story Wednesday, Gadot posted a link to it on her Instagram Stories, where messages cycle out after 24 hours. She has not otherwise commented publicly. The film's lead, "West Side Story" star Rachel Zegler, retweeted a link to another trade magazine's report of Gadot's casting. Marc Webb (2012's "The Amazing Spider-Man" and its 2014 sequel) is directing the film, which is set to begin production next year.

Gadot, 36, stars with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds in "Red Notice," opening Friday.
