Ethan Hawke will attend this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival to talk about his upcoming film, "Blue Moon,” which will screen as one of the festival’s Spotlight selections.

The festival's 33rd edition runs Oct. 3-13 at venues around the East End.

Hawke plays lyricist Lorenz Hart in "Blue Moon,” which is set in Manhattan’s storied Sardi’s restaurant on the night that his former writing partner, Richard Rodgers (Andrew Scott), celebrates the opening of his Broadway smash "Oklahoma!,” written with Oscar Hammerstein II (Simon Delaney). "Blue Moon,” scheduled for release Oct. 17, is directed by Hawke’s longtime collaborator Richard Linklater ("Before Sunrise,” "Boyhood”) and features Margaret Qualley and Bobby Cannavale. Hawke will sit for a live interview on Oct. 4 as part of the festival’s annual series "A Conversation With ... .”

The festival’s opening night selection is "Eternity,” starring Elizabeth Olsen as Joan, a dead woman who must decide whether to spend the afterlife with her longtime partner (Miles Teller) or a lost love (Callum Turner) who died young and has been waiting for her. It opens in theaters Nov. 26. Another Spotlight selection will be a new adaptation of the stage musical "Kiss of the Spider Woman,” starring Diego Luna, Jennifer Lopez and rising actor Tonatiuh, who will be honored with the UBS Breakthrough Performer award. (The film will be released Oct. 10.) There will also be a special screening of "Sorry, Baby,” an indie comedy-drama released in June whose writer-director-star, Eva Victor, will receive the UBS Breakthrough Director award.

"By honoring emerging talents like Tonatiuh and Eva Victor alongside established talents, we are reminded of how vital film remains as an art form,” David Nugent, chief creative officer of HamptonsFilm, said in a statement.

In a last-minute addition to the festival’s “A Conversation With …” lineup, Olsen will also sit for an in-person interview on Oct. 4.
