‘Itzhak’ to open 2017 Hamptons International Film Festival

The Israeli conductor and violinist Itzhak Perlman will be a featured guest at this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival. Perlman, who has a home on the East End, is the subject of Alison Chernick’s documentary “Itzhak,” which will serve as the festival’s opening night film Oct. 5.
Also in attendance for the 25th edition of the festival will be Jennifer Garner, a star of the coming-of-age drama “The Tribes of Palos Verdes,” which co-stars Justin Kirk and Elisabeth Röhm.
Other film titles newly announced include “Killer Bees,” a documentary on the local Bridgehampton High School basketball team, produced by Shaquille O’Neal; “Wanderland,” a comedy-drama filmed on the East End with Dree Hemingway; “The Misogynists,” starring Dylan Baker (“Happiness”) as a Donald Trump supporter celebrating in a hotel room on election night; and “The First To Do It,” which tells the story of Earl Lloyd, the first African-American to play in the NBA.
