Jane Fonda to portray Nancy ReaganIn one of Hollywood's more ironic casting decisions, Jane Fonda will play former first lady Nancy Reagan in the upcoming film "The Butler," Newsday's Rafer Guzmán reports. The movie -- directed by Lee Daniels, best known for the 2009 hit "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire" -- tells the true story of Eugene Allen, a White House butler who served eight presidents from 1952 to 1986. Fonda's casting created a stir yesterday; the actress is an outspoken liberal still remembered as "Hanoi Jane" for her opposition to the Vietnam War.
