"KPop Demon Hunters A Sing-along Event" is coming back for an encore at Long Island theaters just in time for Halloween.

The Netflix animated movie, which has been a surprise smash for the streaming service, will be screened at select Regal and AMC theaters the weekend of Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. Among the theaters hosting the film on Long Island are Regal Deer Park, AMC Dine-In Huntington Square 12 in East Northport, Regal UA Farmingdale & IMAX, AMC Roosevelt Field 8 in Garden City, AMC Glen Cove 6, AMC Shore 8 in Huntington and Regal Ronkonkoma. Since it premiered in June, "KPop Demon Hunters" has become Netflix's most popular film of all time, with more than 236 million views according to the streaming platform. The soundtrack album currently ranks No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart just behind Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl."

The movie's mix of animé, Disney-esque storytelling and Korean pop tunes immediately caught on with Netflix viewers. The story centers on the K-pop girl group Huntrix, whose three members — Rumi, Mira and Zoey — perform uplifting songs designed to keep the world safe from a nefarious army of soul-eating demons. The original songs come from a mix of artists ranging from K-pop veterans such as Jihyo, leader of the group TWICE; and Kevin Woo, formerly of the band U-KISS.

"KPop Demon Hunters" first played in theaters the weekend of Aug. 22-24, and easily topped the box office with a three-day domestic gross of $18 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.
