WHO Rosemarie DeWitt
THE MOVIE "Neighborhood Watch"
THE DEAL Having completed a recent run on Showtime's "United States of Tara," the actress is now in negotiations to star in this sci-fi comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The plot focuses on a group of suburban dads whose hush-hush male-bonding group uncovers a plot to destroy the world. The cast already includes Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller; a recent draft of the script was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
WHO Jason Bateman
THE MOVIE "ID Theft"
THE DEAL The actor, currently starring in one identity-switching comedy ("The Change-Up") is about to start filming another. This time, Bateman will play the victim of an identity thief who turns out to be a woman, played by Melissa McCarthy. According to Deadline.com, the script originally called for a male thief, but McCarthy's scene-stealing abilities in "Bridesmaids" led Bateman, who is also a co-producer, to push for a gender-reversal. Filming is set to begin in April.
WHO Jessica Chastain
THE MOVIE "The Debt"
THE DEAL The actress currently stars as a naive housewife in "The Help," but plays a rather different role in this thriller about a Mossad agent tracking a Nazi war criminal. Helen Mirren plays an older Chastain; the cast includes Tom Wilkinson, Ciaran Hinds and Sam Worthington. Long delayed by studio-roulette and finally set for release by Focus Features Aug. 31, "The Debt" can be seen in a very early sneak preview as part of this season's Furman Film Series.
