WHO Thomas Brodie-Sangster
THE MOVIE "Death of a Superhero"
THE DEAL Though he's best known for little-kid roles in movies like "Nanny McPhee" and "Love Actually," the 21-year-old British actor plays a teenage cartoonist faced with cancer in this indie film. A mix of animation and live action (Andy Serkis also stars, as an unorthodox therapist), the movie premiered at this year's Toronto International Film Festival and was recently picked up by Tribeca Film, according to Variety. No release date has been announced.
THE MOVIE "Adam's Rib"
THE DEAL The quintessential Spencer Tracy-Katharine Hepburn comedy, about married attorneys on opposite sides of an attempted-murder case (Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin won the Oscar for their screenplay), screens locally with guest speaker James Curtis, author of "Spencer Tracy: A Biography." It's the latest from an author who has also written about Preston Sturges, W.C. Fields and other Hollywood icons.
