THE MOVIE "The Dark Tower"
THE DEAL The Oscar-winning Spanish actor may play the gunslinger Roland Deschain in the long-awaited movie adaptation of Stephen King's series of "Dark Tower" novels, Dead line.com reports. Although the project appears to be in the early stages, Warner Bros. is said to be giving Ron Howard the chance to direct from a script by Akiva Goldsman ("The Da Vinci Code"). King's popular Western-fantasy novels, about an order of knightly gunslingers, have been bouncing around Hollywood for years; Universal previously was considering a bundle of three feature films and two limited-run television series.
THE EVENT Marvel Marathon
THE DEAL Beginning at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3, AMC theaters will host a six-film marathon of Marvel movies leading up to and including the midnight premiere of Joss Whedon's "The Avengers." In the lineup are "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor" and "Captain America." As of today, the only New York-area theater is the Empire 25 in Times Square, though AMC says more venues may be added. Admission for all six films is $40.

THE MOVIE "Tyson"
THE DEAL Director James Toback probably never imagined that his 2008 documentary about boxer Mike Tyson would be used this way: It's showing as part of a panel discussion co-sponsored by The Retreat, a Suffolk County domestic-violence shelter. Tyson, accused of abuse by his first wife, Robin Givens, and later imprisoned for raping an 18-year-old woman, pulls no punches while discussing his personal life in the movie, which the Retreat's executive director, Jeffrey Friedman, has called "the perfect catalyst" for a conversation about domestic violence.
INFO Tonight at 7 at Bay Street Theatre, 1 Bay St., Sag Harbor. There is a $10 suggested donation. 631-329-4398; theretreatinc.org.
