THE MOVIE "Metropolis"

THE DEAL Like Jimi Hendrix's catalog, Fritz Lang's 1927 silent epic keeps growing. The latest re-release of this sci-fi classic includes nearly 30 extra minutes of footage discovered in a private collection in Argentina, which brings the new running time to 153 minutes. Organist Ben Model accompanies the opening night screening.

THE MOVIE "Premium Rush"

THE DEAL The increasingly visible young actor is in final negotiations for the lead role in what may be the first bicycle-messenger-themed action film since 1986's "Quicksilver," which starred Kevin Bacon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gordon-Levitt also may reteam with director Rian Johnson ("Brick") for the sci-fi movie "Looper." He appears later this summer in Christopher Nolan's "Inception."

 

THE MOVIE "Racing Dreams"

THE DEAL This winner of the best documentary prize at last year's Tribeca Film Festival follows three children, ages 11 to 13, as they compete in races that may lead to a NASCAR career. It's screening as part of the Great Neck Arts Center's spring Furman Film Series and will be released in theaters June 4.
