WHO Val Kilmer

THE MOVIE "Twixt Now and Sunrise"

THE DEAL A star of lowbrow hits like "Real Genius" and "Top Gun," he has been working with some highbrow directors lately. First came a small part in Werner Herzog's "The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans," opposite Nicolas Cage, and now Kilmer is filming Francis Ford Coppola's latest, according to Deadline.com. It's said to be a horror-thriller based on a Coppola short story; the director is shooting it on his property in Napa, Calif. The cast includes Elle Fanning and Bruce Dern.

THE MOVIE "Winter's Bone"

THE DEAL Austin has its Alamo Drafthouse cinemas, Brooklyn has its ultrahip reRun Gastropub Theater - but did you know that Patchogue's Brickhouse Brewery & Restaurant also shows movies? Next week, it's screening the critically acclaimed indie drama "Winter's Bone" as part of a series sponsored by Patchogue's Plaza Media Arts Center and Huntington's Cinema Arts Centre. To sweeten the deal, the Brickhouse is offering moviegoers free popcorn and soda, plus a 15 percent discount on dinner.

INFO Monday at 7:15 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Go to plazamac.org.

THE MOVIE "Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer"

THE DEAL For this documentary, Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney convinced New York's disgraced former governor to sit for several interviews. Gibney also located Spitzer's favorite prostitute - not Ashley Alexandra Dupré - though she is played by an actress, a tactic that has drawn some criticism. The Furman Film Series is holding a sneak preview of the film with editor Plummy Tucker as guest speaker.

INFO Thursday night at 7:30 at Clearview Squire Cinemas, 115 Middle Neck Rd., Great Neck. Tickets are $15. 516-829-2570; greatneckarts.org.
