THE MOVIE "Confession of a Child of the Century"
THE DEAL The former Libertines rocker made his acting debut in this French film screened at Cannes recently but found few fans among critics. Famous for his headline-making drug abuse and outlaw lifestyle, Doherty may have seemed like a perfect fit for the role of Octave, a debauched dandy living in the 19th century. Instead, Doherty drew excoriating reviews from The Guardian ("shambling amateurism"), Screen Daily ("calamitous miscasting") and Cine Vue ("truly awful"). The <a href="/topics/Hollywood_Reporter">Hollywood Reporter</a> suggested the singer-guitarist "shouldn't even think of giving up his day job."
THE MOVIE "The Amazing <a href="/topics/Spider-Man">Spider-Man</a>"
