THE DEAL The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical about the musical von Trapp family celebrates its 45th anniversary with sing-along screenings in nearly 500 theaters around the country next week. The event is timed to the release of a three-disc home video set from 20th Century Fox.

THE MOVIE "Just Like Us"

THE DEAL In this latest offering from the Port Jefferson Documentary Series, a group of "comedy ambassadors" travels to the Middle East to battle Muslim stereotypes and foster understanding through humor. The film's editor, Benedict Kasulis, will speak at a screening next week.

THE MOVIE "Vision"

THE DEAL One of Germany's leading directors - she began her career as an actress working with giants like Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Volker Schlöndorff - comes to L.I. to present her latest film. It's based on the true story of a 12th century nun, Hildegard von Bingen, whose philosophy becomes a threat to the church. The movie begins its regular run Oct. 22.
