 THE DEAL Men are circling around the <a href="/topics//Syosset,_NY">Syosset</a>-raised actress, at least when it comes to casting for her upcoming Western. According to The <a href="/topics//Hollywood_Reporter">Hollywood Reporter</a>, <a href="/topics//Michael_Fassbender">Michael Fassbender</a> ("X-Men: First Class"), the film's original male lead, has exited the project. Taking his place is <a href="/topics//Joel_Edgerton">Joel Edgerton</a> ("Zero Dark Thirty"), who was originally cast as the villain. In turn, the villain will now be played by <a href="/topics//Jude_Law">Jude Law</a>. The film, about a woman who turns to an ex-lover for help protecting her family, is scheduled to begin shooting next month with director Lynne Ramsay ("We Need to Talk About Kevin").

 THE DEAL This documentary, which won an audience award at last year's <a href="/topics//Hamptons_International_Film_Festival">Hamptons International Film Festival</a>, tells the story of 38 Ukrainian Jews who survived <a href="/topics//World_War_II">World War II</a> by living in caves for 18 months, surfacing only to collect wood, food and supplies for the families. Among the survivors interviewed in the film are Sonia Dodyk, then a 10-year-old who later emigrated to America by herself at the age of 14 and now lives in <a href="/topics//Lake_Success,_NY">Lake Success</a>. Next week's screening, part of the <a href="/topics//Port_Jefferson,_NY">Port Jefferson</a> Documentary Series, will feature guest speakers Zac Nicholson, the film's cinematographer, and Chris Beauchamp, a still photographer who also worked on the film.

It kicks off tonight at 7:30 with Gilles Legrand's "You Will Be My Son," a drama about an imperious vintner (Niels Arestrup) searching for a successor to the family business, and continues through the weekend with the psychological drama "Persecution" (starring Charlotte Gainsbourg), the comedy "Granny's Funeral" and Alice Winocour's "Augustine," based on the true story of a 19th century doctor investigating a case of female hysteria.
