The Academy enlisted a true God this year -- Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth -- to help announce the 2014 Oscar nominees Thursday.

As predicted, "Gravity" and "American Hustle" top the list (with 10 nods each), while Martin Scorcese's Long Island-based tale, "The Wolf of Wall Street," was more of a surprise -- considering it was met with mixed reviews from critics and audiences, then took only a single Golden Globe on Sunday. "Wolf" snagged five nominations in major categories, putting it pretty much on par with the Globes best picture winner, "12 Years a Slave," also a leading nominee in the Oscars race.
