‘Polar Express,’ ‘Christmas Story,’ ‘Elf,’ more holiday films to see on LI

Long Island is a winter wonderland to see some holiday favorites on the big screen. Here are three venues serving up some chestnuts.

• YMCA Boulton Center in Bay Shore (37 W. Main St.) is on board for “The Polar Express,” Robert Zemeckis’ 2004 fantasy that will screen Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Meet and greet Santa and Mrs. Claus afterward.) Then celebrate with the crazy Griswold clan when the 1989 romp “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” is shown Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

• Southampton Arts Center (25 Jobs Lane) will also present “Vacation” on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. And bask in the glow of the leg lamp when the 1983 perennial “A Christmas Story” returns on Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.

• Huntington’s Cinema Arts Centre (423 Park Ave.) offers a double dose of “Elf” (2003) starring Will Ferrell on Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. Then Bill Murray puts his spin on “Bah humbug” in the 1988 comedy “Scrooged” on Dec. 23 at 10 p.m.
