Report: J.J. Abrams to direct next 'Star Wars'
Abrams to direct next 'Star Wars'The seventh "Star Wars" film will be directed by J.J. Abrams, TheWrap.com reported yesterday. Abrams, who helmed the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot and its upcoming sequel "Star Trek Into Darkness," as well as "Mission: Impossible III" and "Super 8," had been courted by Lucasfilm Chief Kathleen Kennedy, the site said. The film, being scripted by Michael Arndt ("Little Miss Sunshine") is scheduled for a 2015 release. Neither LucasFilm nor Abrams' production company or talent agency responded to requests for comment.
