“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will make its home-video debut in April, Disney chairman and CEO Robert A. Iger announced at an annual shareholders’ meeting Thursday.

The seventh film in the enduring sci-fi franchise will be available to own on digital HD and the cloud-based service Disney Movies Anywhere on April 1. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be released as a Blu-ray combo pack and on DVD on April 5.

The film will come with extras and featurettes that may vary depending on the retailer but are likely to include the making-of documentary “Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey,” the nuts-and-bolts featurette “Building BB-8,” an interview with composer John Williams and a collection of deleted scenes.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” received five Oscar nominations and earned more than $900 million at the domestic box office.
