Tickets went on sale Tuesday for the New Year's Eve theatrical screenings of the 2-hour-plus "Stranger Things" series finale. (Of course, the finale will stream simultaneously on Netflix.)
Screenings start at 8 p.m. at Regal theaters in Farmingdale, Lynbrook and Westbury as well as the AMC Raceway 10 in Westbury and AMC Stony Brook 17. There will be additional screenings on New Year's Day.
Tickets are available via online platforms, including Fandango, Atom tickets and Ticketmaster and through the theater chains.
"Stranger Things," arguably Netflix's most influential series, first streamed in 2016. The first four episodes of the fifth and final season rolled out on Nov. 26; the next three drop on Dec. 25, before the Dec. 31 finale, which is intriguingly titled, "The Rightside Up."
Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer told Netflix’s Tudum in October that bringing the finale to theaters is “something we’ve dreamed about for years.”
“Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect way to celebrate the end of this adventure,” they said.
The finale is set to screen at 500 theaters nationwide, according to Netflix.
