THE DEAL The Emmy-nominated star of HBO’s “Silicon Valley” will appear in the sequel to Ruben Fleischer’s zom-com “Zombieland,” Variety reports. The returning cast includes Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin and the plot centers on new zombie species that seem to be evolving. “Zombieland” was a hit in 2009, earning $75 million, and Fleischer went on to direct 2013’s “Gangster Squad” and last year’s surprise blockbuster “Venom.” Middleditch has recently been the face of Verizon's television ad campaign.

THE MOVIE “The Misfits”

THE DEAL The Irish-born actor and onetime James Bond has signed on for a new action film set in the Middle East and filmed in Abu Dhabi, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “The Misfits” — not to be confused with the 1961 Clark Gable-Marilyn Monroe drama of the same name — follows a renowned criminal trying to pull an elaborate gold heist. Jamie Chung and Hermione Corfield also star, and Renny Harlin directs. Shooting begins Monday.

THE MOVIE “Basquiat: Rage to Riches”

THE DEAL David Shulman’s BBC-produced documentary, which aired last year as part of PBS’ “American Masters” series, explores the short but impactful career of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the young New York grafitti artist who quickly became an Andy Warhol protege and art-world sensation before dying of a heroin overdose at 27 in 1988. The film will screen locally, followed by a talk with Michael Halsband, who photographed Basquiat, as part of Black History Month.
