Disney/Pixar on Monday released the first teaser trailer for "Toy Story 4," introducing the panicky new character "Forky" into the mix of anthropomorphic playthings.

Set to Judy Collins' lovely yet remorseful hit version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now," the one-and-a-half-minute trailer finds Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, Hamm, a "Space Crane" alien and Slinky Dog happily going hand-in-hand in a circle in slow motion — followed by a perplexed-looking spork with frantic googly eyes, popsicle-stick feet and pipe-cleaner arms, mouth and unibrow shouting in alarm, "I don't belong here!" A comic mishap quickly ensues.

The movie finds the toys, which had been donated by college-age original owner Andy to little girl Bonnie in "Toy Story 3" (2010), meeting Forky (voice of Tony Hale, "Veep," "Arrested Development"), who insists he is not a toy and doesn't want to accompany them on adventures.

"The world of 'Toy Story' is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a purpose," director Josh Cooley said in a statement. "A toy's purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he's facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him."

"Toy Story 4," continuing the franchise that began with "Toy Story" (1995), the first completely computer-animated feature, is scheduled for release June 21.
