A teaser trailer for the final "Twilight" film will accompany the March 23 debut of "The Hunger Games," a symbolic seal of approval from one blockbuster teen franchise to what could be the next.

This will be the first time the trailer for "Breaking Dawn Part 2" will be shown in theaters. The trailer was shown at select Target stores earlier this year on the night the DVD of "Breaking Dawn Part 1" went on sale. The full "Twilight" trailer will hit the web officially on March 26.

With "Harry Potter" no longer around and "Breaking Dawn Part 2" scheduled to put the vampire series to rest Nov. 16, "The Hunger Games" seems poised to dominate a suddenly wide-open youth market. Based on the first of three best-selling science-fiction novels by Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" stars Jennifer Lawrence ("X-Men: First Class") and Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids are All Right") as teens forced to compete in a deadly reality show.

Collins' novels, set in a grim, futuristic world, have been runaway hits since the first book's debut in 2008. There are reportedly more than 23 million copies of the trilogy, which includes "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay," in print.

Excitement over the film adaptation, which also stars Lenny Kravitz and Elizabeth Banks, has been so high that fans snapped up tickets more than a month in advance and accounted for 83 percent of first-day sales at the website Fandango. That broke a record at the site previously held by "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

Pairing Summit Entertainment's vampire trailer with Lionsgate's sci-fi film also shows the new synergy between the studios. Lionsgate acquired Summit in January.
