Two more movies are coming in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise.
Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie (2015's "Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation," last year's "Mission: Impossible - Fallout") on Monday confirmed a Variety report he would direct back-to-back sequels, tweeting, "Missions: Accepted. #MissionImpossible."
Franchise star Tom Cruise weighed in shortly afterward, with a tweet reading "Summer 2021 and Summer 2022” and an animated graphic of the "M: I” logo flanked by iconic dwindling bomb fuses.
The six-film franchise has grossed $1.155 billion worldwide.
