‘Much Ado’ at Shakespeare fest
WHAT Audiences are sure to find the fuss warranted when the Carriage House Players take the Vanderbilt Mansion’s courtyard stage for “Much Ado About Nothing” as part of its 29th annual Summer Shakespeare Festival. Claudio and his bride-to-be, Hero, conspire to make a match between Benedick and Beatrice, who are more interested in exchanging acerbic jabs than declarations of love. Meanwhile, false rumors threaten their own romance. Pack a preshow picnic dinner and find out where all the meddling leads.

LI Sound & Art fest
WHAT The Long Island Sound & Art Festival, now in its fifth year at Northport Village Park, gets into the proper rhythm as it kicks off with a two-hour drum circle followed by three sets of live music by Ken Talve Trio, Ying Yang and Glass Bottom Soul. Adding to the festive vibe and scenic harbor view will be kids’ activities, yoga, massage and even hula-hooping, plus 30 vendors selling a broad selection of handmade wares.
