Shut out of those Kraftwerk shows at the Museum of Modern Art next month? Maybe the folks at Volkswagen can help open a door.
Volkswagen of America is giving away 50 pairs of tickets per show to the sold-out, eight-night stand of the performance-exhibition, "Kraftwerk -- Retrospective 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8," from April 10 to 17 at MoMA. Visit VWGIFaway.com to enter the contest. Winners will be contacted by March 26.
"Through our partnership with MoMA, Volkswagen is thrilled to offer fans a chance to win tickets to these special performances and revel in Kraftwerk's musical creativity," Jonathan Browning, president and chief executive of Volkswagen Group of America, said in a statement.
The legendary German robo-synth group, together since 1970, and known for such tracks as "Tour de France," "Computer Love" and "Autobahn," is often hailed as the progenitor of such musical styles as techno and the new romantic movement.
Bonus: In addition to the concert tickets, Volkswagen is giving away 500 pairs of tickets to view a temporary exhibit of Kraftwerk's audio and visual material from April 12 to May 14. Fans who enter to win performance tickets will be eligible for both events.
