Adele, Bruno, Kanye get Grammy nods

Well, Adele, the Grammys have been waiting for someone like you.
The soulful British singer-songwriter, who has dominated the charts with her album "21" and the smash single "Rolling in the Deep," landed six nominations in the 54th annual Grammy Awards, including nods in the top three categories, a feat matched by pop singer-songwriter Bruno Mars for his song "Grenade" and album "Doo Wops and Hooligans." Rockers Foo Fighters also snagged six nominations.
Only Kanye West, with seven nominations in five, mostly hip-hop, categories, received more nods for both his well-received "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" album and his collaboration with Jay-Z, "Watch the Throne."
However, indie-folk heroes Bon Iver provided the night's biggest surprise, as the band on the tiny Jagjaguwar label landed nominations for record and song of the year for "Holocene," as well as a bid for best new artist. "Super weird butterflies!" tweeted Bon Iver singer Justin Vernon after hearing the news. "Thanks y'all."
Another surprise was the relatively small nomination haul for Tony Bennett and his "Duets II" album, which landed only three nominations and was shut out of the top categories, even though the pairing of the Astoria legend and a host of younger artists followed the formula of previous Grammy juggernauts like Carlos Santana's "Supernatural."
"Once again, it is most gratifying to see the Grammy Awards process produce a broad cross section of diverse and impressive nominees across multiple genres," said Neil Portnow, chief executive of The Recording Academy, in a statement. "This year's nominations truly reflect an exceptional and talented creative community that embodies some of the highest levels of excellence and artistry in their respective fields."
Winners will be announced on Feb. 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
