Are Bay Shore's One4Five finalists in this season of "The X Factor"? We'll have to wait until next week to find out.
The rapping brothers Jemelle and Julien Joseph made it through the show's first two rounds, but it looked liked they were struggling last night, as judges cut the field from 60 to the 24 who will compete on the show. “Overwhelmed,” they said, in a short segment talking about messing up their lyrics.
However, the Josephs certainly made a good impression in their first audition, especially 23-year-old Jemelle, who was wearing blue contacts that Simon Cowell said he liked because they made him look like a zombie.
Their rapping skills and stage presence helped, too.
“I'm completely sold,” said judge Demi Lovato. “You guys are going to be really huge one day.”
The duo, graduates of Brentwood High School, have been making music together for more than a decade and are also part of a touring group, The Truth Inc., that focuses on positive messages of empowerment.
After they cleared the first round and headed to Miami for “Boot Camp” week, One4Five said they were “invigorated” and excited to see their hard work pay off.
“We took all the pressure going around, the pressure of having four big names in front of you,” Jemelle said. “We just took that and use it .?.?. to give us the best performance that we can give to our audience.”
