Surprise! Beyoncé to release new album (sort of) on Nov. 24
Beyoncé is at it again.
Following the surprise release of her "Beyoncé" album last December, it seems only fitting that the deluxe edition of the album be a surprise as well. At least this time Queen Bey is giving us a little notice.
On Nov. 24, she will release the "Beyoncé Platinum Edition" box set -- a two-CD/two-DVD package including new songs "7/11" and "Ring Off," four remixes and a new DVD chronicling the "Mrs. Carter Show World Tour."
The new remixes in the set include the "Flawless" remix featuring Nicki Minaj that has generated lots of buzz, a "Drunk in Love" remix that features Jay Z and Kanye West, and a remix of "Blow" featuring Pharrell.
It turns out that the rumors of another all-out Beyoncé surprise were only sort of right. That rumored “album” claimed new songs with Justin Timberlake and Minaj, while speculating of new work with Rihanna.
Until Taylor Swift's "1989" came along last week, "Beyoncé" was the top-selling album of 2014, with around 800,000 copies sold, according to Billboard.
