Billy Joel announces October show at the Garden

We're running out of new ways to say it each month: Long Island legend Billy Joel returns to Madison Square Garden on Oct. 9 for an 84th monthly show in his unprecedented residency there.
His 130th overall show at the Garden, it happens to take place on International Beer and Pizza Day. General-public tickets go on sale 10 a.m. April 29 at Ticketmaster.com.
Joel, who performs in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday, has sold out his May 14, June 10 and Aug. 24 Garden shows, according to his website, with tickets remaining available for the July 20 and Sept. 9 concerts.
The Hicksville-raised Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, 72, who has homes in Sag Harbor and Centre Island, has earned five Grammy Awards plus a Grammy Legend Award, a Kennedy Center Honor and the Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. He also has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
