Bono apologizes for U2 album's automatic iTunes download

U2frontman Bono has apologized for his band's unsolicited free download of its new album, "Songs of Innocence," to iTunes users. In a Facebook Q&A with fans, he responded to Harriet Madeline Jobson, who called the automatic download "really rude" and asked if the band would refrain in the future. "Oops. I'm sorry about that," Bono, 54, replied. "Had this beautiful idea, might have got carried away with ourselves. Artists are prone to that kind of thing. Drop of megalomania, touch of generosity, dash of self-promotion and deep fear that these songs that we poured our life into over the last few years mightn't be heard. It's a lot of noise out there. I guess we got a little noisy ourselves to get through it."
