Britney Spears reflected on her first kiss and her recent breakup Tuesday -- after she announced a concert residency in Las Vegas.

In response to a question by correspondent Sam Champion on "Good Morning America," Spears, 31, recalled she was "maybe 13" when a boy kissed her for the first time -- Justin Timberlake, her co-star on

Disney Channel's "Mickey Mouse Club" from 1993 to 1995, she said.

The two would go on to have a relationship from 1999 to 2002.

A more recent relationship, with Holbrook's Jason Trawick -- her fiance for 13 months before they ended their engagement in January -- influenced her yet-untitled eighth studio album, being released Dec. 3.

"During this album, I had a breakup with Jason that I went through, that I wrote a lot about," she said.

"They suck! Breakups suck, man!" she told Champion, laughing. "They do!"

The interview immediately followed Spears' helicopter arrival at a desert site outside Las Vegas, where more than 1,000 fans had gathered with placards that together formed a massive photo of the singer's face. Spears then announced a two-year commitment to the concert series "Britney: Piece of Me" at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas.

"I'm gonna definitely do the greatest hits but I'm going to have to put some of my new material in it just to keep it fresh," she said.

A spokeswoman for parent company Caesars Entertainment told Newsday that Spears is set to do 48 shows each year, beginning Dec. 27.
