Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s “Wrecking Ball” tour will touch down in the area for five shows starting April 3.

Tickets for the area shows – Izod Center (April 3 and 4), Madison Square Garden (April 6 and 9) and Prudential Center (May 2) – go on sale Friday.

According to a band statement, no replacement has been named for the late Clarence Clemons on saxophone. Clemons died last year after suffering a stroke. The current E Street Band lineup is: keyboardist Roy Bittan, guitarists/vocalists Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, and Steven Van Zandt, bassist Garry Tallent, and drummer Max Weinberg. Soozie Tyrell, on violin, guitar and vocals, and Charlie Giordano on keyboards are part of the touring band.

The tour -- which kicks off in Atlanta on March 18, shortly after Springsteen delivers the keynote address at this year’s South by Southwest Music Conference -- is set to promote Springsteen’s upcoming “Wrecking Ball” album, which arrives in stores March 6, featuring the new single “We Take Care of Our Own,” which went on sale last week.
