Carter to continue tour despite sister's death
Backstreet Boy Nick Carter plans to continue his current solo tour, even after the death of his sister, Leslie, Tuesday in upstate New York. She was 25.
He announced his intention to perform at Irving Plaza in Manhattan Thursday and at The Paramount in Huntington on Tuesday.
"Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform," Nick Carter said in a statement.
He also thanked fans for their wishes and prayers and asked for privacy while he grieved.
Nick Carter, Leslie, and brother, Aaron, were all on the E! reality show "House of Carters," which followed them in their music careers.
Aaron Carter, currently starring in the Off-Broadway production of "The Fantasticks," plans to take a short break.
"Aaron is taking a few days off from the show," John Capo, the production's spokesman, told E! News.
Aaron Carter's understudy, Matt Leisy, will replace him until his return.
