Diana Ross is coming out — to Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.
On Monday, Tilles Center announced the music icon will bring her "Diana in Motion" tour to the venue at LIU Post in Brookville on Aug. 23. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at TillesCenter.org and Ticketmaster.
Ross last appeared at Tilles Center in 2018, when she played to a sold-out crowd. For "Diana in Motion," Ross will perform songs from her more than 60 years as an entertainer starting from her days as the lead singer of The Supremes to her solo career.
With The Supremes, Ross scored 12 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Where Did Our Love Go," "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "Love Child." Ross had even greater success as a solo artist starting in 1970 and scored another six No. 1 singles, including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Love Hangover," "Upside Down" and "Endless Love," a duet with Lionel Richie.
In addition to her recording career, Ross, 82, had big screen success with the 1972 biopic "Lady Sings the Blues," for which she earned a best actress Oscar nomination for her performance as singer Billie Holiday. Her other films include the romance "Mahogany" (1975), set in the world of high fashion, and "The Wiz" (1978), in which she traveled to the Land of Oz as Dorothy with Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow.
Ross' many accolades include being a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition to performing at Long Island University, Ross has headlined other Long Island venues, including Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh in 1995. She was also a frequent performer at Westbury Music Fair, including a show with The Supremes in 1967.
In December, she was one of the musical guests performing in Times Square on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest."
