Farmer confronts topless Rihanna in field
A farmer and municipal politician in County Down, Northern Ireland, politely asked pop star Rihanna to leave his wheat field when she went topless during production of a music video there.
Alan Graham, 61, an alderman for the town of Bangor, had not heard of the multiplatinum Grammy-winner when a production company called him Friday, asking permission to shoot on his property. He was riding his tractor Monday when he saw Rihanna, 23, going topless after having changed from a checked flannel shirt to a star-spangled bikini, to a red bra and then to a black mesh top.
"It became apparent to me that the situation was becoming inappropriate and I requested them to stop and they did stop," Graham told the TV program "Good Morning Ulster," according to the Belfast Telegraph.
"I had my conversation with Rihanna regarding that and I hope she understands where I'm coming from and we shook hands and we parted company on good enough terms," Graham added.
"The filming was taking place on my land and I have an ethos, and I felt that that was inappropriate. And that's why I requested it to stop and I do think the shoot did end then."
Rihanna, who is in Northern Ireland for three sold-out shows at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast Thursday through Saturday, was shooting a video for the just-released "We Found Love," the first single from her as-yet-untitled sixth album.
"I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends," Graham told the BBC. "Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God."
Rihanna's spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment.
