The Great South Bay Music Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its biggest lineup to date, more than 60 artists performing across four stages over four days, July 14-17, at Shorefront Park in Patchogue.

“This year we wanted to be the most diverse we’ve ever been,” says Jim Faith, event founder and organizer. “We are trying to lay new music on people as well as bring in some classic legends.”

This year’s bill includes Graham Nash, Blues Traveler, Umphreys McGee, Railroad Earth, Colin Hay, Savoy Brown, Main Squeeze, NRBQ, Aztec Two-Step and John Sebastian. More acts are still being booked.

Long Island artists Miles to Dayton, Michael DelGuidice Band, Kerry Kearney Band and Six Gun will also be on the roster.

This year the event will add a fourth day, making it the longest the festival has ever been.

“We figured while everything is set up, why not add more music?” says Faith. “Plus, it helps in case we have rain.”

Another new element will be country acts on Friday, July 15 such as Jamey Johnson, Joe Nichols, Lone Star and JT Hodges. Laurie Berkner will perform a special Sunday morning children’s concert on July 17. An arts and crafts village, KidZone, wine and craft beer garden and food court will also be part of the festivities.

“Early Bird” tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at greatsouthbaymusicfestival.com, which will be discounted from the regular general admission price (Berkner concert not included).

Nash will close out the festival on Sunday, July 17, which has been a dream of Faith’s since the festival began.

“His music gives off that peaceful kind of feeling,” says Faith, “and overlooking the water makes for the perfect setting.”
