The Allman Brothers may be retired but that doesn’t mean Gregg Allman is sitting home this summer. The legendary singer/songwriter will be headlining and curating his 2nd annual Laid Back Festival, which comes to Jones Beach on July 23. Wantagh is one of the five stops the festival will be making this summer along with Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, and Morrison, Colorado.
The concert lineup varies by city. Playing on the Jones Beach bill with Allman will be Jason Isbell, America, Marshall Tucker Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Devon Allman, Gabriel Kelley and Levon. Artists will perform on two stages — the main “Laid Back” stage and the more intimate “Low Country” stage.
In addition to music, there will be a variety of American food to experience from regional restaurants and food trucks to breweries and wineries.
Tickets, ranging from $20 to $125, go on sale Friday at noon at ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. For early birds, a pre-sale begins Tuesday at 10 a.m.
