Hot Song: Train's 'Drive By'

Train's new single "Drive By" (Columbia) does sound like a transparent play for radio love, with its sped-up chorus and its heavy-handed hook, declaring, "This is not a drive by-aye-aye-aye-aye." Sure, this sounds nothing like any previous Train songs, but it's hard to hate the players when they're just trying to keep up with radio's dance-frenzied game. Pat Monahan and friends blatantly went out looking for a hit, and they found one. Mission accomplished.
