Jonas Brothers Twitter page taken down

Following a personal rift that led to the band canceling a tour scheduled to begin last Friday, the Jonas Brothers have taken down their official Twitter page, igniting speculation that the band has broken up.
"The guys indeed have taken down their [Twitter] handle, but nothing additional to report at this time," the group's spokesman told Newsday.
E! News said the page twitter.com/JonasBrothers was deleted late Wednesday. Attempts to access it Thursday resulted in the Twitter form page reading, "Sorry, that page doesn't exist! Thanks for noticing -- we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon."
The band's official website, JonasBrothers.com remained active, as did the individual Twitter pages for brothers Nick Jonas, 21, Joe Jonas, 24, and Kevin Jonas, 25.
Celebrities and others on Twitter have been known to deactivate their accounts for a time before reinstating them. In one known example, "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin, who shut down his Twitter account in December 2011 after a much-publicized disagreement with airline flight attendants, later returned to the microblogging site.
On Oct. 9, a day after performing at a charity event in St. Paul, Minn., the Jonas Brothers canceled their upcoming tour, including an Oct. 20 show at the Theater at Westbury and an Oct. 23 show at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom.
"There is a deep rift within the band," spokesman Jesse Darris told People magazine at the time. "There was a big a disagreement over their music direction." As for the band's future, he said, "It remains to be seen."
