WHO Furthur

WHEN | WHERE 7:30 p.m. Sunday

THE DETAILS Featuring guitarist Phil Lesh and bassist Bob Weir -- both formerly of the Grateful Dead -- Furthur is the newest incarnation of the iconic jam band. Many of the group's songs are simply covers of Grateful Dead tunes.

DID YOU KNOW The band paid homage to its hippie roots by naming itself after the bus driven across North America by Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters in 1964.

STICK AROUND FOR Furthur usually finishes up its set with a Grateful Dead song. While there's a huge library to choose from, the band's favorites to top a night off with are "One More Saturday Night" and "Touch of Grey."

FEEL-GOOD BONUS Here's some food for thought: Bring a nonperishable and nutritious food item to rock CAN roll Inc., which will be collecting on site. The organization helps keep local pantries stocked. Visit rockcanroll.org for more info. The group also will be collecting donations for Weir's Aug. 7 show at NYCB Theater at Westbury.
