WHO Yes and Styx

WHEN | WHERE 7 p.m. Monday

THE DETAILS Both bands had stellar singers back in the day -- Jon Anderson in Yes and Dennis DeYoung in Styx. But don't hold that against the new lineups. The prog-rock progenitors of Yes, forever known for "Roundabout" and later "Owner of a Lonely Heart," still have Steve Howe on guitar. As for Styx, well, "Come Sail Away" will be the theme for the night, this being Jones Beach and all.

NEW PIPES Anderson's replacement is Canadian-born singer Benoit David -- not jazz guy David Benoit. David fronted a Yes tribute band. Singing for Chicago's Styx: Larry Gowan, a Scottish-born Canadian bloke.

DID YOU KNOW Yes: Howe appears on the cover of "Time and a Word," although he didn't play on the 1970 album. Styx: DeYoung played Pontius Pilate in the traveling production of "Jesus Christ Superstar."

STICK AROUND FOR Yes ended things at its July 4 show in Camden, N.J., with "Owner of a Lonely Heart," "Roundabout" and "Starship Trooper." Styx closed its regular set with "Come Sail Away" and played "Renegade" as its encore song last month at a Wisconsin concert.
